Jonathan Greenbaum

Jonathan is an advocate and adviser to corporations, partnerships, associations, and individuals. He has established a broad based litigation and counseling practice with an emphasis on labor and employment related litigation, commercial disputes and general counsel services.

Jonathan defends employers in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts, including employment related class and collective actions, discrimination claims, wrongful discharge, breach of employment contract claims and restrictive covenants, and claims for employee benefits, as well as labor related litigation. He is currently defending several employers in nationwide wage and hour and class and collective actions and in ERISA litigation. Jonathan also advises employers on strategic labor relations issues, related to mergers and acquisitions, risk management and assessment, preventative employment policies and represents employers in investigations conducted by federal, state, and local administrative and law enforcement agencies. Jonathan also handles collective bargaining negotiations and regularly practices before the National Labor Relations Board in an arbitration proceedings. Jonathan’s experience also includes counseling entities of all sizes on compensation plans, providing counsel to compensation committees, drafting executive employment agreements, wage-hour compliance, and merger and acquisition due diligence. Jonathan has also been appointed as special labor counsel in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Jonathan also serves as general counsel to corporations, partnerships and associations.

Prior to joining Coburn & Greenbaum, Jonathan was a partner at Nixon Peabody where he headed the labor law team and served as the pro bono partner for the DC office.

Jonathan received a B.A. from Clark University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland and New York as well as federal courts throughout the nation.

Jonathan has been designated by the Washington Business Journal as one of the top three employment litigation attorneys in the Washington, DC area.
